When I started my blog in 2010 I was living in Boston’s North End. I was dipping into travel and documenting everything along the way - food included, to have those memories. An ever present dose of nostalgia plus a desire to share and recommend: my blog enabled me to do all those things at one time. It was the Boston restaurant scene, and it was so much more. Events, collaborations, launches, brands, products, hotels, travel, partnerships and friendships. It is mainly travel focused now, me quietly journaling and then sending out the link whenever one of you needs me. If I’ve been there, I got you! Here are some recent instances:
A friend planning a 40th birthday wine country celebration and debating between Sonoma and Willamette.
A co-worker and her husband off on a kid free jaunt to Porto + Lisbon, plus a European based friend headed to Porto on a long weekend girls trip. Look at Porto getting all that love! Rightfully so.
Newlyweds headed to Italy on their honeymoon debating where to stay on the Amalfi Coast. (Hint, it’s not Positano!)
A friend headed to Puerto Rico with her family over the holidays.
My husband asking for Iceland posts for his former boss. My Aunt asking for them too!
My best girlfriends who I traveled to Morocco and Southern Spain with - why yes ladies, your smiling faces and the results of your excellent trip planning are there.
A friend bringing back a hilarious email chain as the 10th Anniversary of a group ski trip to Chamonix approaches.
My brother-in-law sharing his enthusiasm when I casually posted a link on Instagram. Let’s get another link out to the world!
My Mom asking — can we get an email when you publish a new post?! Also my Mom — taking a trip to Oahu and me joyously digging through my honeymoon archives for must eat foods in Waikiki and the North Shore.
Substack is my answer. Substack is going to get that email to you! Today is a fun link up of travels but this is just us getting started. My blog motto has always been: “anything that moves me on the journey has a home here.” If you want to come along for that journey, I’m happy to have you!
