Start Here: About On The Map
let's find out
On The Map is the embrace of New England in every season and a cool blast of nostalgia. Ice cold dirty martinis with an attractively hot plate of French fries. A sprawling literary memoir, the magic of a winter forest, and the seduction of ocean waves. Effervescence alongside freshly shucked oysters, feeling the bubbles and brine as they levitate your spirit. OTM is collecting hotel key cards, maintaining lifelong friendship, obsessing over antique soda bottles, and relishing an in flight meal. We are here for strong espresso, happy kids, après ski, and loves enduring power.
My philosophy when reaching a new destination is to take in every ounce of its beauty and imperfections. In the moment living means not contemplating over what something (or someone!) has to offer and letting it unfold naturally and meaningfully. This feeling extends beyond travel and transcends to life lived in a flow state, not a forced one.
Speaking of life. As it moves right along — embracing relationships, family, friends, and your kids (if you have them) is at the crux of this newsletter. It’s not always what I am writing about, but it permeates the pages of life around here! Who matters most to you? Are you maintaining meaningful connections with them?
Let’s start by visiting Cape Cod, Massachusetts; forging beyond the tourist crowds to find the raw, unspoiled, life affirming shores and dunes. If you aspire to eat the freshest seafood and swim in the best waves, my guides x town have you covered: Provincetown // Wellfleet // Truro // Eastham // Orleans // Dennis.
Next, we’re off on a midwinter ski + spa day in Woodstock, Vermont and then we’re discovering outstanding cocktail bars to visit in Portland, Maine. We’re sharing the best way to devour the tasting menu at Earth @ Hidden Pond in Kennebunkport, and what to eat at Boston’s Nautilus Pier 4 or Andover’s Akita Ramen. I’m jaunting across the Atlantic with my best girls — find some fun with us in Budapest, Vienna, Strasbourg, Zurich, and beyond!
We’re going to calmly navigate a short layover through a large European airport traveling with little kids. Kids are still kids and toddlers are still toddlers no matter where you go! Keep your expectations even and they will probably surpass them. I am infinitely proud traveling with mine and we have so much fun. Kids will be the best version of themselves when you are the best version of yourself, so to that I say take them everywhere!
The ultimate bliss? Newborn babies. Mamas you CAN embrace new motherhood without loosing yourself.
Dear readers, I’d be honored to join hands for this adventure. We will follow our instincts to new destinations, waltz in the moment, and find beauty everywhere we go! There is literally nothing to worry about; TRUST THE JOURNEY!
I am eternally grateful for your subscription. THANK YOU!
